A.W. “Chip” Stites, II has been in the financial services industry since 1978. During this time, he has been in charge of over $80 million in direct client assets on a discretionary basis, and over $730 million in trust and retail assets, in a supervisory capacity. Over the past two and a half decades, Mr. Stites has shifted the focus of his practice to actively managing the investment portfolios of select clients. As an active manager, he and his associates perform their own securities research, fixed income analysis, and rigorously review investments, culling the marketplace for new opportunities. His overall investment style is that of an “opportunist or contrarian”, taking less than market risk to get a return greater than the risk implies.
Chip’s background includes growing up all over the East Coast, and in Italy. His education includes a BA in History at Florida Southern College. He attended Catholic University for a MFA in Acting which he did not complete as he began a professional singing career, singing in night clubs on the East Coast. As a financial commentator he has had his own radio show, and has been seen on KRQE Channel 13 TV and heard on morning drive time radio as a frequent guest commentator.
