LifeROOTS (Formerly RCI Inc.) is an Albuquerque-based tax-exempt non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides the community with a broad range of programs and services for children and adults with developmental, physical and behavioral disabilities in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and surrounding areas. Our innovative programs and services, led by certified, experienced and professional staff, assist people with disabilities of all ages to reach their highest levels of self-sufficiency.

Kathleen Cates - Kathleen Cates is the Interim CEO of LifeROOTS, the central New Mexico-based organization that provides the community with a broad range of programs and services for children and adults with developmental, physical and behavioral disabilities. A seasoned professional in the not-for-profit arena, Kathleen has a great deal of experience in managing, and growing, a number of local and national non-profits. Kathleen began her non for profit career working on campaigns for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and The Fashion Institute Targets Breast Cancer campaign. She has worked as a consultant and fund raiser with large and small organization around New Mexico
An active member of the local community, Kathleen is a charter member of the Rio Rancho Sunrise Rotary, and is involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Blue Star Mothers, as well as serves as a volunteer at area food banks. She brings both her passion for not-for-profits and her strong business skills to her role as Interim CEO of LifeROOTS... in addition her personal experience of having her daughter helped through the programs and services offered by this unique organization.
