September is– “New Generations Month”

Announcements/Sad-Happy-Brag Bucks:

Barrie received his (3rd) vaccine booster shot... Looks like he’s the first!

Gloria put up $10 ‘cause Mike’s home & he’s feeling better… Also, daughter Lisa & family made it to Shanghai & they’re quarantined.

Pam attended a TWA convention… Only a few hundred showed up. Bobby has skin surgery- cancer under the eye.

Cheryl found $2 to say that she had a great time in CO & that she’s happy that it’ll be balloon fiesta soon.

Emily had no voice mails on her new & very expensive ‘phone. She found out that her new model has “problems”!

A pin & badge check yielded nuttin for our coffers today.

Our Trivia Quiz for the day from Sgt-at-Arms Cheryl:

In what month is Mollie’s birthday? Libby knew that it’s in January!

Before & after 25 September 1962-1964: The last airing of the tonight show with what host? A: Jack Parr said Penny.

Parr’s slightly “off color” joke (according to censors of the time) re: W.C., was cut by the censors & Parr walked off the set (left the show) never to return.

When was Johnny Carson’s last tonight show? A: 1992

Re: International politics: Sadat replaced Nasser… Who replaced Sadat? A: Barrie told us that it was Mubaric.

Our PolioPlus Jar made its usual trip around the room to gather loose change, pocket lint & even paper cash money!

Today’s Program:     The changing of our Club’s website!

President Emily introduced Gloria, our Treasurer & Webmaster.

Yup, your board of directors had to make the decision to change website providers!

Gloria reviewed the possibilities which will be considered when “the time comes”.

We looked at other existing Club websites and discussed the differences available between new website formats compared to the “look” of our present website.

Our discussion included the new look, i.e.: How much info shall we include and where to place it all; If we’ll have a “slide show”, we should slow it down & simplify the messages; We’ve got to show why & how our Club is different, why our club was formed and that we’re an “alternative” Rotary Club. Photos of our various projects will also be included.

A committee was roughly formed, which will assist webmaster Gloria in the layout of our new site.

There being no further Rotary business, our meeting was concluded at 1:00 PM.
