Today’s meeting was called to order at 12 Noon. President Emily led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance & the 4-way test. A moment of silence and reflection followed.

October is– “Vocational Service Month”

Announcements/Sad-Happy-Brag Bucks:

Cheryl found a fiver to tell about the kids belated honeymoon which fell through due to Covid.

Maggie parted with $2 (sad) ‘cause anti vaccination friends of her son tested positive!

Gloria put up $5 since her daughter & family in China are coming out of quarantine. Michael tested Covid positive & then negative… go figure.

Barrie found a buck to say that he & Abby will soon travel to Seattle for a couple of weeks to visit kids and grandkids.

There was no pin & badge check today.

Nor was there a Trivia Quiz for the day from Sgt-at-Arms Cheryl.

Our PolioPlus Jar made its usual trip around the room to gather as much as it can!

Bring in your old Rotary magazines for eventual use at our Rotary information table. Usually, the table will be set up monthly (when they let us do it) in the lobby of N. Domingo Baca.

Today’s Program:

Our program included the task of folding and packaging hundreds of “T” shirts for use by the Rio Grande Food Project, for their “Hike to End Hunger 2021” event. The scheduled date of our labors was moved forward by RGFP, so we did some double duty today. It appears that Cheryl dragged all of the boxes of shirts to our venue today… And, of course, back to RGFP.

President Emily introduced Gloria & Maggie. Each of them regaled the attending group with their heretofore deepest and darkest secrets.

Both Gloria & Mary Margaret permitted us to follow along from their humble beginnings to the glorious and successful culmination of their lives to date.

Gloria’s story was complete with family pictures (on screen) and we followed her through the family turkey farm and one room schoolhouse, and her travels throughout the world.

Maggie began life in Johannesburg, South Africa and we also followed her story throughout the world… she was, at one time employed by Al Italia, did some modeling and she even attended finishing school.

There being no further Rotary business, our meeting was concluded at 1:00 PM. However, we discovered another case of shirts and stayed as long as necessary to complete our task.
