President Vivien called our holiday party to order at 12 Noon (If that was possible).

Guests: There were three of ‘em!

December is – “Family Month”

This year’s holiday luncheon party took place at Mimi’s Bistro, 4316 The 25 Way. Everyone brought contributions for a food bank collection AND there was a “fun food” exchange. President Vivien has arranged this affair for us and Pat has taken charge of the food bank donations.

Club, District & R.I. News and Business:

Please remember our visits to Casa Solano & Hannett House on 17 December. Buy your gifts ahead of time and bring them to our meeting on 10 December! Don’t forget to wrap & label your gifts.

The Governor’s Ball - 18 or 25 April. It seems that the host Clubs don’t know where it’ll be held. Tables of 10 go for $1600. If our Club manages to sell tables, we’ll get $400 back per table. Deadline for table sale is 2 weeks before the event. Ticket sales start on 20 January. Can’t we fill up at least one table? So far, nobody has expressed any interest!

There’ll be another Rotary Leadership Institute session on January 25th, in Albuquerque and the registration link is up and running on the District 5520 website.

Here’s an opportunity to travel on an internationalRFE! There’ll be a group going to District 4845 (Paraguay and NE Argentina) from April 21 to May 2, 2020. We don’t know the exact locations to be visited during this RFE. The visit may include the city of Asuncion, Iguazu Falls, etc.

During June 12-26, 2020, we’re hosting a fun Rotary Friendship Exchange group from South Australia. Since they’re combining this RFE with the R.I. Conference in Hawaii and other travel in the USA, they want to make arrangements as quickly as possible to save on airfare. Donna needs to know which clubs will be hosting, so she’ll know which airport (El Paso and/or Albuquerque or possibly others) they’ll be using for their visit. When hosting clubs are lined up, a specific schedule will be set up as to when they’ll be in each area. There will be five couples and two solo women. The two women could be in the same home if the host has two bedrooms or a room with two beds. Host clubs will make their own determination about what they are willing to provide in the way of meals and sightseeing and what they want the RFE group to pay for. Each hosting club must provide transportation in their area and halfway between the hosting club before and after the visit.

Please respond as soon as possible to Donna Pedace at pedaceabq@aol.com or to Regina Guest at raeguest65@swcp.com to let us know if you’re willing to host that fun group of Australians.
